Mary Virginia Devine, fondly known to many readers and friends as "Toci," has devoted the last three decades to the field of Mexican-American culture.
She was born on April 20, 1945, in Racine, Wisconsin. After graduating from William Horlick High School (Racine, 1963), she earned the following academic degrees: BA in Spanish and French from Dominican College (Rancine, 1966), MA in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin (Madison, 1967), and PhD in Romance and Germanic Languages and Literature from Wayne State University (Detroit, 1972).
"Toci" lives in Racine, and continues her study of American Mystery religions and folk wisdom.
