Paperback. He's the ice-cold star who refuses to feel anything. She's the new trainer determined to heal everyone but herself. When forced proximity melts his defenses, their collision might destroy them both-or finally make them whole.Callum Thorne has spent three years playing hockey like a machine-precise, controlled, emotionless. After his reckless play ended his best friend's career, he locked away the passionate player he used to be. He doesn't do relationships, doesn't do vulnerability, and he definitely doesn't do the new athletic trainer with eyes that see straight through his carefully constructed walls. But when Ivy Cortez is assigned specifically to him after a injury, avoiding her becomes impossible. She's sunshine and warmth in his self-imposed winter, and she terrifies him more than any opponent ever could.Ivy Cortez has built her entire career on being professional, contained, and absolutely nothing like the "too intense" woman her ex abandoned. This job with the Portland Riptide is her fresh start, and she won't ruin it by falling for a brooding hockey player who looks at her like she's both his salvation and his destruction. But Cal's wounds aren't just physical, and the more time they spend in treatment rooms and empty rinks, the more she sees the devastatingly real man beneath the ice. He makes her want to be reckless again. He makes her want to feel everything. And when he finally touches her like he's been starving for it, she realizes some risks are worth the fall.
