Structural engineer and lawyer Domel offers builders an alternative to guessing when they are in the field or otherwise away from their personal libraries, where fuller information is available. He summarizes information on foundation requirements and codes; load factors, forces, and deflections; fastener types and schedules; wood strengths, sizes, uses, and substitutions; suppliers and trade organizations; general safety; and other topics. He leaves a lot of room for making additional notes. Flex-binding. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
