This charming vintage street map of Ames, Iowa was published in 1974 by the Ames Bulletin Board. Primary transportation routes and important buildings are labeled within the image, while advertisements for numerous local businesses are literally drawn to their respective locations across town. The verso offers a detailed bird's eye view of the campus of Iowa State University, noting the location of nearly 120 different facilities and structures. Accompanying text notes 'What's New in Ames' and discusses the construction of Jack Trice Stadium, then nearing completion. Sheet Width (in) 21.25 Sheet Height (in) 16.25 Condition Description Moderate damp staining visible in the lower left, concentrated around the Hardee's ad. Creasing and light wear along fold lines and the outer edges of the sheet, consistent with wear and age. About good condition overall.
