This is a true story about a middle aged man who, quite unexpectedly, found himself taking on a running challenge for which he was pitifully ill-equipped.

It follows the drama of his feeble first efforts with friends, through the shared failures and successes, and describes the many strange occurrences and laughs encountered along the way.

He shares what he's learned about running, and imparts some life wisdom developed from many long, lonely, hours on the road, as the art and craft of long distance running gradually draws in its willing victim.

A must-read for every distance runner, whether new-comer or seasoned, or indeed anyone who faces challenges in life and would welcome just a little help with their own journey.
