160pp SOFTCOVER EDITION Published by The Edith C. Blum Institute, Bard College and The Vassar Colle ge Art Library for an exhibition held 1988 to 1989 at: Bard College, Vassar College Art Gallery, Albany Institute of History and Art, The Queens Museum, and finally at The Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, New York. These essays include: The Hudson Sits for Its Portrait: 1821-1902; Landscape Architecture and the Hudson River Valley: The Juncture of Nature and Technology; The Painted Environment; Documents of the Personal Landscape; The Artist's House and Studio in the Nineteenth-Century Hudson Valley. These are followed by a catalogue of plates; notes; brief chronology; and selected bibliography.…
