Dalla quarta di copertina
''COLLINS ADVANCED MODULAR SCIENCES''
Series Editor: Mike Coles
Collins Advanced Modular Sciences is a complete set of resources for Advanced level courses in the sciences. The core books cover the core for all A-level schemes, while the option books complete coverage for the NEAB science syllabuses (both modular and traditional) along with a range of other schemes. Every book is richly illustrated in full colour and has been designed to support students who have followed balanced science courses at GCSE.
'COLLINS ADVANCED MODULAR SCIENCES
READY FOR DEARING:'
Modular, flexible and covers the new Cores. Each CAMS book offers:
• Ôreal worldÕ contexts to motivate students
• clear learning objectives to organise student progress
• readable text and clear illustrations to promote understanding
• carefully structured concept development to aid learning
• summaries of key ideas to aid revision
• many questions to encourage reflection on the text
• special treatment of any mathematics required to support the science
'Choose your option'
Each Option Book covers a number of NEAB modules so that students can read material from related modules to broaden their understanding without having to purchase another book. However, the individual modules are clearly identified within each book to avoid confusion.
A typical student will require two option books which is cheaper than three separate texts. Teachers can therefore build the course they want to follow in the most cost-effective manner.
'Support teaching and learning'
The Support Packs provide photocopiable materials to help teachers deliver the course. Tutorial sheets provide support for students, the first page taking students through the development of an idea while the second side contains a series of diagnostic questions and answers to check their understanding.
A number of tutorial sheets cover the mathematical demands of A-level Sciences.
Activity sheets provide the types of paper and pencil activities that teachers typically use to develop courses from a syllabus or book. They have been developed by the team that worked on the successful ATLAS scheme. Each pack also contains practical activities which have been matched to the NEAB practical assessment guidelines.
ÒI have studied using the Collins Advanced Modular Sciences which I believe have played a vital role in my exam success, where I have obtained 90%, 95%, 93% and 93%. No other textbook series caters for the syllabuses I study with the precision of yours.Ó

Ò… explanations are clear and satisfactory, helped by some clear diagrams that seem to have been drawn on purpose rather than merely recycled from elsewhere. I particularly liked the chapter on relativity.Ó
'Physics Education', referring to 'Particles, Principles and Possibilities'.
Ò'Particles, Principles and Possibilities' is very well produced… The physics is explained clearly and there are plenty of straight-forward questions to help students consolidate their understanding. …get hold of a copy of this book and assess it yourself.Ó
