The Chappaquiddick ferry on the island of Martha's Vineyard has for more than 200 years been carrying cars between the Vineyard and Chappaquiddick, 527 feet away. It is the oldest waterfront business on the island, and has been witness to pretty much everything that has happened over these two centuries -- including the filming of Jaws, the accident on Chappaquiddick that changed political life forever, the change in the Vineyard from a whaling community to a tourist resort. This is a fun, well illustrated book about that is unique in American history. The book includes a 15-minute DVD narrated by Dick Ebersol, former president of NBC sports.
Informazioni sull?autore: Tom Dunlop is the author of two books previously published byVineyard Stories: Schooner: Building a Wooden Boat on Martha's Vineyard (2010) and Morning Glory Farm and the FamilyThat Feeds an Island (2009). He is a former editor of, and current contributing writer to, Martha's Vineyard Magazine.Tom first recalls seeing the Chappy ferry when he was four and has wanted to write this book ever since.
