Neuware - 'Not for Children' is a delightful and witty collection of satirical verse and illustrations by the renowned actor and author Roland Young. Known for his sophisticated comedic timing on screen, Young brings that same dry humor and charm to the page in this classic volume. The work features a series of clever poems focused on the animal kingdom, each accompanied by Young's own minimalist and expressive drawings.Despite the playful subject matter, the title serves as a wink to the reader, signaling that these verses are intended for an adult audience capable of appreciating their cynical edge and worldly observations. From the eccentricities of the aardvark to the peculiarities of the zebra, Young deconstructs the traditional animal book genre, replacing sentimentality with sharp, rhythmic wit. This collection stands as a testament to the versatility of its creator and remains a charming example of early 20th-century humor.Readers will find in 'Not for Children' a perfect blend of artistic simplicity and literary sophistication. It is an essential volume for collectors of vintage humor, fans of Roland Young's artistic career, and anyone who enjoys poetry that finds the absurdity in the natural world. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations.
