What happens when purchase of your choice of books are limited and you have a lot of money? Open your own book store! That is just what Jimmy Page of the Led Zeppelin rock band did, opening an occult book store publishing house in London during the 1970's called the EQUINOX. One could say that this book establishment was in a sense tribute to the Occultist Magician Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). The EQUINOX shared the name of the 1909 Crowley periodical publication which became the official organ of the A.A., a successor to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It is written that a birth chart of Crowley was posted to an interior wall of the book shop and a facsimile of THE GOETIAL, a 1904 book written by Crowley, was published by the EQUINOX. In 1971 Page purchased the Boleskine House, a Loch Ness manor owned by Crowley in the Scottish Highlands, used in the fantasy sequence of THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME film. The bookshop closed due to business considerations when the lease expired [ Jimmy Page: The Definitive Biography Chris Salewicz Harper Collins London 2018]. The rest is open to speculation. For sale is a 4 X 5.75 inch 68 page soft cover booklet, valuable unto itself listing Crowley as the author, but also holds provenance with the rare bookplate of the EQINOX book store applied inside the front cover. I have been unable to find another bookplate of its like for sale or viewing. There are no markings or creases to covers. Codice articolo 003245
