The Fundamentals of UNIX Companion Guide, Second Edition is a convenient, portable desk reference that complements the online course (version 2.X) and provides the student with the knowledge and understanding of UNIX® operating system commands, as well as basic Sun Microsystems Solaris operating environment commands, with an introduction to the Common Desktop Environment (CDE). Students will also learn fundamental command-line features of the Solaris environment including file system navigation, file permissions, the vi text editor, command shells and basic network use.
