Formerly the official solicitor, David Venables is the assistant editor of the Vintage Sports Car Club Bulletin and a regular contributor to The Automobile. He is the author of motor racing histories on 1930s voiturette racing Napier, Bugatti, and Alfa Romeo and also the Official Centenary History of Brooklands. He lives in Sussex and is a keen vintage motorist, driving a 1930 Aston Martin and a 1936 Fiat.
