This book comprises the proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Hydraulics, Water Resources, River and Coastal Engineering (HYDRO 2023) focusing on broad spectrum of emerging opportunities and challenges on the impact of climate change on water resources. It covers a range of topics, including, but not limited to, climate change assessment and downscaling issues, climate change impact and adaptive measures, influence of climate variability on hydro-climatic variables, impact of climate change on water resources of Indian Rivers, etc. Presenting recent advances in the form of illustrations, tables, and text, the content offers readers insights for their own research. In addition, the book addresses fundamental concepts and studies on the impact of climate change on water resources, making it a valuable resource for both beginners and researchers wanting to further their understanding of hydraulics, water resources and coastal engineering.

He has also handled guest editorship for Fluid MDPI Journal, SI: Journalof Applied Water Engineering and Research and Frontiers in Environmental Science Journal, SI: The Urban Fluvial and Hydro-Environment System. Dr Pandey is an active reviewer in several reputed peer-reviewed journals.
Prof. N V Umamahesh has more than 35 years of experience as a faculty in the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT, Warangal. His area of specialization is Water Resources Engineering, and his research areas include Hydrological Modelling, Stochastic Hydrology, Hydro-Climatic Extremes, Modelling Impacts of Climate Change, Urban Floods, and Water Resources Systems. He has been well recognized for his analytical and mathematical modelling skills. He guided 13 PhD students and about 100 M.Tech students. He is currently guiding 7 PhD scholars. He has published more than 60 papers in reputed International Journals, and 6 book chapters and presented more than 50 papers in National and International Conferences. He has taken up several sponsored research and consultancy projects. He has held several administrative positions including Chief Warden, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dean (Student Welfare), Dean (Planning and Development), Dean (Academic) and Coordinator of TEQIP-II. He received the Jalamitra Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2003 for the best implementation of the Watershed Development Program in Warangal District. He received the Best Engineering Faculty Award in 2017. He organized two international conferences and several faculty development programs.
Dr Jew Das is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering at National Institute of Technology Warangal. He has done B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar in year 2011, M.Tech and Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal in year 2013 and 2018, respectively. His research interests and activitiesare climate change impact assessment, Extreme value analysis, non-stationary analysis, hydrological analysis and modelling, crop modelling, analysis of compound extremes and ensemble forecasting of hydrologic extremes. Dr Das has authored more than 35 peer reviewed journal publications and presented 10+ papers in international conferences. He has received the prestigious SYSTA award from International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) in the year 2019. Dr Das serves as reviewer for more than 10 reputed peer-reviewed journals. Dr Das is one of the members of the Early Career Editorial Board of ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering. In addition, he serves as an early career committee member of International Commission on Statistical Hydrology (ICSH) under International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
Dr Jaan H. Pu received both his BEng (1st Class Honours) and PhD degrees from University of Bradford UK in 2003 and 2008, respectively. Since 2008, he has taken up several research and faculty positions at various universities/institutions around the world, including at Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Singapore and France. He was appointed as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Bradford in 2014; as Senior Lecturer in 2017; and as Associate Professor since 2020. His research concentrates on modelling and laboratory approaches to represent various water engineering applications which include naturally compound riverine flow, sediment transport, water quality, and vegetated flow. His research analyses have led to several high-quality journal articles, conference publications, book-chapters, and edited book (40+). He currently supervises four PhD students at Bradford (all as principal supervisor, except one) to investigate river hydrodynamics and sediment transport challenging applications. He is also currently a Visiting Scientist at Tsinghua University, China; and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; China; and appointed as a Guest Editor for Water (MDPI Journal’s Special Issue). He has also been involved as reviewer in multiple internationally well-reputed journals, such as ASCE Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, IAHR Journal of Hydraulic Research, and many more.
