Her scientific interests include the theory of economic growth, sustainable development, globalization, humanization of economic growth, emerging markets, social entrepreneurship, the digital economy, and Industry 4.0. Elena G. Popkova organizes Russian and international scientific and practical conferences and is the editor and author of collective monographs, and serves as a guest editor of international scientific journals. She has published more than 300 works in Russian and foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals and books.

In 1994, in the Dissertation Council of Rostov State University, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic "Land reform and improvement of relations of agrarian nature management in the conditions of market formation" (scientific supervisor ― Doctor of Economics, Professor Ovchinnikov V N). In 2002, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
In 2006, in the Dissertation Council of the Rostov State University of Economics, she defended her DSc thesis on the topic "The impact of financial globalization processes on the transformation of the financial system of Russia" (scientific consultant: Doctor of Economics, Professor Vladimir Zolotarev). In 2015, she was awarded the academic title of Professor. Teaching experience ― 31 years. She has been working at the department since 1990.
Olga V Andreeva is Head of the Center for Strategic Studies of Socio-Economic Development of Southern Russia at Rostov State University of Economics (RSUE), Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Public Representative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives on the Environment and Climate.
She graduated in 1996 from the Rostov State Academy of Economics, specializing in finance and credit; Economics qualification. In 2002, she defended PhD thesis in the Dissertation Council of the Rostov State University of Economics on the topic "Sources of financing medical services in modern Russia". In 2006 she was awarded the title of Associate Professor. She has 25 years of pedagogical experience. She has been working at the Department of Finance since 1996. Research interests include sustainable development, green economy, and ESG agenda, with more than 10 scientific papers published.
