In fair condition. Boards are soiled with moderate wear to extremities. Toned exterior and interior. Spine soiled and creased. Dampness staining in rear. does not affect text. Old hand notations on front pastedown. Free of other known markings. Light foxing throughout. Binding remains intact. Please see photos. Scarce. The only extensive collection on the subject, and now scarce. It was Alden s habit to transcribe epitaphs of worthies found in grave yards of towns he visited during his travels in the South, Northeast and Midwest. ***** FORN0756 HKVAR1223.
