He was well known as a parson-naturalist, giving up his curacy to write works about natural history. He produced a number of popular works, such as 'Common Objects of the Seashore', 'Field Naturalist's Handbook', 'Insects Abroad' and 'Popular Natural History'.A new edition of this work.Illustrated with twelve colour plates by Coleman. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn; cloth is discoloured and the spine is cocked, with some bumping to the head and tail, as well as the extremities.
