Looking at the issue of possible post-Cold War armed conflict, this text examines key actors - states and international organizations - with the resources and potential will to address such a problem. The possible roles and strategies, unilateral or co-operative, for ending conflicts are evaluated, and the authors review the role of the US, Russia, China and Japan, all of whom have th epotential to play constructive roles in resolving conflicts.
