CRITICAL VMWARE MISTAKES YOU SHOULD AVOID There are thousands of “How-to” books on the market. This book is not one of them. This book is about principles of virtualization. After 8 years of working with thousands of customers to resolve their virtualization performance issues, Larry Loucks and Rajen Guendoo have assembled here the most common misconfigurations and issues they have seen time and time again. Learn how these misconfigurations can cost your company money, degrade performance, and lower the return on investment in virtualization technologies. Of course, this book will also provide guidance regarding proper methodologies as well. TOPICS INCLUDE • Storage configuration problems • CPU misconfiguration issues • Memory utilization issues • Network configuration issues • Results of poor migration practices ...and more. For all of these, we will discuss impact, detection, resolution, and best practices as well. There are many good how-to-use-VMware books on the market. This book is a welcome supplement to all of these because it provides simple, clear explanations of the principles involved in successful virtualization adoption and implementation. “As a VMware Technical Account Manager for some of VMware’s largest accounts, and a former VMware Senior Consultant, I can authoritatively say that the information in this book can definitely help administrators avoid common virtualization mistakes and improve performance in their environment. I consider this a must-read anyone having virtualization performance issues they cannot seem to resolve, as well as those who want to implement VMware technologies effectively.”

Larry Loucks is a former VMware Senior Consultant and VMware Instructor who has worked with thousands of VMware customers in the past 10 years. Rajen Guendoo is a former VMware Senior Consultant and a VMware Technical Account Manager for enterprise accounts. He is also a former I.T. Manger.
