(Instructional). This book is an exploration of modern compositional devices and their interaction with jazz harmony and phrasing. "This is not just one more exercise book! Most of the traditional exercise books are based on a diatonic concept. Here, finally, is a method which emphasizes a chromatic context. The combination of music tunes and exercises makes hard work very interesting for both beginners and advanced students. Very refreshing for your fingers and your brain!" Matthias Ziegler, Virtuoso Classical and Jazz Flute Artist "Wonderful training ... a challenging and inspiring workout. A great new addition to our technical and musical etude repertoire!" Jeanne Baxtresser, Former Principle Flute, New York Philharmonic
