Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 30 Battalion, Machine Gun Corps, Divisional Troops, 30th Division, covering March 1918 to September 1919 across 193 pages. It names 41 places across 49 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries fourteen reports, narratives and plans, 63 Operation Orders, one appendix and four diagrams. Among the papers are: March Table issued with 30th Division order No. 169; Appendix "A" issued with 30th Battalion Machine Gun Corps order No. 18; Barrage Organization Scheme. 30th Battalion Machine Gun Corps "A" Group Commander; Barrage Organization scheme; Code Names in use during 30th Battn. M.G.C. Barrage scheme; Appendix "B" Barrage Organization scheme to 30th Battalion Machine Gun Corps order No. 43; Addendum to 30th Battalion Machine Gun Corps order No. 43; 30th Battalion Machine Gun Corps order No. 62.The diary opens at St Quentin on 1 March 1918. 1918 is the most travelled year, 33 places against 8 in the next busiest, and is spent at St Quentin, Staple, Near Terdeghem, Pont Remy and Nr. Terdeghem. 1919 is spent at Henriville, Ecault, St Leonards and La Lacque. It closes at Shorncliffe on 18 September 1919. Henriville is where it spent longest, 57 days and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at St Quentin.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Montaigne Quarry, Lancet Farm and Wood S.W. Of Querrieu.In 1918 it is also recorded at Ochancourt, Wood S.W. Of Querrieu, Beaucourt, Villers Bocage, Eperlecques, St. Momelin, Montaigne Quarry, Lancet Farm, Mt. Vidaigne and Mt. Kemmel. In 1919 it is also recorded at Staple 5a, Ambleteuse and Ecault Camp. Boulogne.
