Embarrassed

Angel, Mama called, who is that at my door, tell your little friends you will be outside after you do your chores. Now, girl quit standing there daydreaming, snap out of it before I snap you out of it. Oh my gosh, I mumbled walking away so Mama would not hear me, but of course her ears are like radars, they hear everything. What you say girl don't have me embarrass you in front of your friends. Mom, please stop doing this to me, they already know you don't take no mess I said, with a mean look on my face to let her know I am 18 going on 19, so please stop embarrassing me. As I go to open the door Mya, Trina, and Rae Rae was already standing back 25 feet cause they know how Moms get down, she don't play. I will be over your house soon, when I finish my bathroom. Ok, the girls said as they walked off and continue to walk to Rae Rae's house cause she stays around the corner from me. I closed the door and continued to walk upstairs so I can do my chores and let my Mother get ready for work. I did my chores so fast you would have swore that Merry Maids came with about 5 people and they gave us a speed special. In came my mother with one of her speeches that she always give, she give them so much I know what she is going to say before she says it. "See those girls may not have chores, I understand they are grown and all, but living in my house, you are going to clean up after yourself." That is why Rae Rae got caught last summer with a party going on in her parents house while they was on vacation my mother said. Mama why you always bring that up about her, that is not all what she's about. My mother keeps on talking and saying the same thing that she says over and over. "Now you wait and see, it is going to be a matter of time before they be running around with babies. Instead of their parents being a parent, they try to be their friend. That is why I stay on you and your sister so you will know how to be independent and make something out of yourself. "Sheila, get over here and tell your sister how It took one time for me to embarrass you before you knew I meant business, mama said." Sheila did not want to get involved, she hated getting into me and moms spats because she knew mom would use her to tell me things that she went through. I am so glad Sheila had actually been on my side this time, Sheila said mama you can not expect Angel to walk a straight line and do everything you say without her making her own mistakes. Momma was like if I asked you for your opinion then you could have made a smart remark like that. But you did put me in it mom and that is why I don't like to get involved because sometimes you don't like what I have to say. Anyway have a nice day, I love you mom and Sheila kissed me on the cheek and said bye sis see you later, and out the door Sheila went to school and work. I always said I can't wait until Sheila gets her place, then I possibly could move with her. My mother had a problem of throwing water on a hot fiery dream. "Angel, did you hear me?" Yes I heard you, I heard you loud and clear. "Girl I see right now I am going to have to call your dad, cause me and your smart ways are not going to work here." Why would you do that when dad has his own family to deal with, he don't have time for me or Sheila. I seen Tracy last week and she asked me when I was coming over and I told her I would see, but what I really wanted to say was girl please I know we sisters and all but your dad don't worry about us. My mother looked at me with a smile and did not say anything and the way she looked at me was like she was looking at herself. When my dad left us and divorced my mother it was like he through us away and never looked back except for our birthdays and Christmas. My dad made sure we had a check every month to cover our needs like we were a bill cause mama was not letting him get off that easy. See my dad works for a huge Law Firm and makes a lot of money, so him and mom agreed that he still pay for her mortgage and what ever we need. The time when we were all together we was happy, until my dad did not come home one night and said he was at the office doing work, yeah right moms was not going for that. The morning he came home was the morning moms had his bags on the front lawn with the locks changed. My mother told us what happened and when we asked daddy he tried to blame it on my mother putting him out was the reason he left. See my mother was very strict but she was a beautiful loving and kind wife that any man would love to have. I finished my chores and headed down to Rae Rae's house and rung the doorbell. Trina answered the door and everybody was glad I was there. Around the corner in the living room I noticed Meagan and Rochelle were there. I pulled Trina aside and was like, why are those two here. Trina said, "I seen them at the store and they asked what we were doing and I told them and they asked could they come over." I said mmhmm, with those two around no good is right around the corner. I went into the living room and spoke to them, Rochelle looked at me as if she hated I even came over. "Did Darnell take you to the movies last weekend," Rochelle asked me. I said yes and he took me out to eat at Pinkstar's Seafood. Pinkstar's was every girls dream food place, cause it had everything pink like a pink palace, even the girls that brought you your food wore pink outfits down to the skates they roll on to bring your food to the car or outside at the tables. If a boy took you there, you knew you were very special to that boy and I definitely felt special with Darnell. Rochelle looked like she had egg on her face and I asked her why you ask me that? Meagan then said, why are you worried about that boy, girl let it go, move on, have some dignity. Was you dating him before or at any time Rochelle, I asked. No Rochelle said then Meagan spoke up and said but she had a crush on him and let him know and he acted like he was too good to respond to her telling him that. Oh well that was rude, I would not have liked if I put my feelings out there like that and I got no response. I am going to ask him about that. "No, no it's ok Angel, I should not have said anything, that was my fault." "Well, are you two a couple," Meagan asked. I was not going to say anything but yes we are. "What," Trina said, "OMG you guys make a cute couple. Rae Rae was like, I knew they were a couple I could tell, cause Angel came back from her date all smiley faces and happy. "You know what Rae Rae, you're right, I could not put my finger on it at the time but now I know," Mya said. "He's too much of a pretty boy to me, Meagan said, and you know how pretty boys think they all that." Not all maybe some I said. "Him and his boy Toni was capping on each other one day and I heard Toni call him a Momma's boy and he said that's right I sure am." Then I said well I like that cause that means that he has respect for young ladies which explains why he treated me with just that, respect. Aw look at you Angel, "you seem like you're in love," Mya said. I thought to myself that it does seem like that but I knew what Meagan and Rochelle were doing so I had to defend my boo. No it's not that I am in love but I do really like him and he says he really like me so I'm going to see this through until the end, I said. I'm going to tell yall this then enough of me and Darnell, yall know he let me wear his letterman Jacket. No way, that was so sweet Trina said. Then Meagan had to ruin the moment and said why are yall so shocked and surprised yall know that's what they do before they get what they want. So Rae Rae spoke up for me and was like, hold up you got my girl twisted she does not get down like that and I'm sure that's what he seen in her to have asked her out and let her wear his jacket. "For real," Trina said, I have not seen him with a girl let alone letting one wear his jacket." "Besides, I have seen him eyeing Angel and looking like he was in love every time he saw her walk by," Trina recalled. Let's just drop it, I don't care what anybody say about Darnell, we are together and that is how it's going to be until we decide otherwise. "Okay, so what are we about to do," Rae Rae said. Rochelle then said, do I have an idea, let's call some boys and play some games." What games, I said. Rae Rae don't you have that drinking game we played a couple of weeks ago? I looked at Rae Rae and said, what drinking game? The game I had told you about when we came over to your house the day after we played it, Rae Rae said. What were you girls drinking Rae, Mya, uh Trina, anybody care to inform your best friend of just what was going on. "Here you go nosy rosy, just do you want to play or what?" I don't know Rae Rae, it seems that we have been keeping secrets from each other. Oh look who's talking Mya said. So tell me about the game Ms. Mouth Almighty Mya, since you have sooo much to say. "Well you have a bottle, and some Alcohol, and you spin the bottle and whoever it lands on, has to take a shot of the Alcohol." Rochelle and Meagan made it interesting by inviting some boys over that her cousin Mark knew from his College. Oh, yall was chilling with some College guys you don't know, well, well, well, I guess that game was real fun. Let me talk to you for a minute Rae. "I knew she was not going to be fun or want to do anything, when she showed up." Rochelle, you really do not know Angel, just cause she is quiet and get straight A's in school does not mean she is not fun to be around," Trina said. Then Mya had to put her 2cents in and said yeah, we have not been friends since we were little for nothing, my girl knows how to party and still keep it classy. "Well I was just saying, it's not that serious," Rochelle said. Now Rae Rae you know that them two are no good and you know we do not usually do anything with them. "I know Angel but last time we let them kick it with us, we had fun, specially with them college dudes, they were fine." But come on Rae, you know I do not get down with them ratchet brods, they have no class, look at how they just tried to get down with me. You know no girl gone tell me about my Boo, we've been trying to get together too long to let them break us up for some bull, girl please. "So what do you want to do Angel?" Let's just see how it goes, but I don't want you or anybody else getting in trouble, so we'll see. So we went back into the living room to play the game and of course before we walked back Rochelle, had already called her cousin and his "College" buddies. I already have a bad feeling about this I said in my mind, but I am going to see how this night plays out.

Let The Game Begin

"Hey Ms. Beautiful," I heard over my left shoulder. What's up Mark, I have not seen you in awhile. "I know, I have been getting my College on doing good." Oh ok that's good! "Let me introduce you to my boys, this is T.K., Rodney, and Mike, fellas this is Angel." "Angel, Rodney said, your father must have been God, cause he sure named you the right name, cause that is definitely what you are." I started blushing and said thank you, but had to walk away from that situation, before I let him think it was ok to talk to me like that and fall into his mackin words that he think he can get away with, not with me. Rodney came over to where I was and started trying to talk to me again. I said first of all, let me let you know that I have a boyfriend. I do not want you to think I am leading you on or anything like that. "Well you see the difference is, I'm a man, not a boy and I like what I see, you are way too beautiful to be with a boy." Uh Ron, Rob, oh wait Rodney whatever your name is, I think I know who I want to be with. Besides you do not know me and I do not know you, so no disrespect but I happen to love who I'm with because he respect and treat me better than most men ever could. "Angel you ok over here, what is going on Rodney, you messing with my girl, Rae Rae said." Then Mark came over and told Rodney to come with him to the store. "Was he messing with you Angel" Yes Mark he was, but I think I handled the situation. "Ok cause I was going to handle him for you, I know you mess with my boy D now." Dang everybody know, I said blushing. Girl I am so glad you came to save me, I was going to go crazy on that boy. "Come over here with me and the girls." I really do not want to be around Meagan and Rochelle like that, I am telling you they are up to something. "You tripping Angel, I think they just want to hang out with us sometimes, they cool and all but you know they could never be us." "We are way above they level." But what I can say about them is, they know how to have fun and that is why I let them come over." Alright, well let's play the game so I can get home and call Darnell, I can't stop thinking about him. We always on the phone forever talking bout you hang up, no you hang up first. "Let's play this game before you go MIA on us". My phone rung and I was glad to see it was Darnell, hello, hi baby I was just thinking about you. "That's crazy cause I was thinking about you too. Well I guess great minds think alike. "What are you doing right now?" Over at Rae Rae's house about to play a game. I did not want to tell him who was over here or what game we were playing because then he would be trying to come over to make sure I am not doing anything, Little does he know, I have everything under control, he does not have anything to worry about. "What game you playing?" Spin the bottle, I mumbled. "Spin the bottle, what you know about that?" I don't, this is my first time playing baby. "I might need to swing by there and get my hug and my kiss cause I miss you." I miss you too, let's get together later, I will call you after I get finish over here. Bye babe! "Bye baby, I'll see you in awhile, wait who over there?" I laughed, bye Darnell. "Bye." "I already know who that was, dang you two are in love, yall thinking alike and everything." Ok let's play the game now, I want to spin the bottle first. "Mark and Rodney are almost back from the store with the drink." What are they getting, wine or the hard stuff, clear or brown? "Vodka and Cranberry Meagan said." I never tasted Vodka before, but Rae Rae, Mya, Trina and I had some wine before and it was good. "Ok their back now, open the door, Trina said" I had not noticed T.K. and Rochelle was kind of close and looking like they had something going on. I thought to myself he does not know what he is getting himself into, then I thought at least she will not be thinking about my boo anymore. I don't know this but I feel like I am getting myself into something I can not get out of. I hope I do not regret this, and I have a bad feeling that this is going to come with some consequences. My first mind told me to just leave, then I thought, hmm, should I play, or should I walk away from this game. With my heart racing and my mind running with it, you would think I would have a half of brain to do the right thing, but no, I was too busy thinking what my friends would think of me. So here I go, no turning back now, I mean don't get me wrong like I said I tried some wine, but it was only a glass and It did not do anything except give me a little buzz. "Angel, Angel, girl are you here or in space, can you handle this game, are you scared or what, Rae Rae said. Mya touched my shoulder and said, do you need a drink of water or something, cause you sweating like you under pressure. Everyone was laughing at me and I said woo that's what it feel like. T.K. spins the bottle first and it landed on Mya. "Why did the bottle have to land on me Mya said." The look on Mya's face when the drink went down her throat, looked like she had just swallowed a ball of fire. Mya then spins the bottle that landed on Rodney, and he took his shot like a champ. The game kept going a few more times, still not landing on me, so I was happy until the bottle landed on me. Meagan had just took her shot and spins the bottle very slow, and I think she did that on purpose hoping it would land on me cause I was three seats down from her. Oh ok, I see what this is, I guess everyone was feeling their drink cause all I hear is everybody chanting, drink, drink, drink, drink, ok I said. Down the alcohol went, and it almost came back up, then Trina handed me a glass of cranberry juice and I felt a little better. That mess is nasty! Why you guys keep laughing at me? "Because you are funny, square," Rodney said.
