Diabetes is a serious disease that can lead to severe complications including blindness, heart attack, kidney failure, foot amputations and more. The best way to avoid these complications is through a complex regimen of frequent examinations, laboratory testing and treatments as defined by ADA position and consensus statements. Yet it has been suggested that as few as 20% of physicians follow recommended practice guidelines! The Diabetic Diary was designed by a physician-scientist who saw a need for a comprehensive, yet easy to use manual to guide diabetic patients and their physicians through the complex maze of diabetic medical management. The Diabetic Diary guides the diabetic patient through his/her yearly health maintenance regimen via concise, easy to understand summaries of current ADA recommendations. Space is provided to record medical history, medications, home sugar monitoring, clinical laboratory testing, physical examinations and immunizations. This book is organized for easy entry and retrieval of information by both patient and physician, making The Diabetic Diary the perfect companion to accompany any diabetic patient to all physician encounters.
