Paperback. Tate Harmon is a sixteen-year-old pilot, a rancher's grandson, and a boy who has always noticed things other people don't. From nine hundred feet above Bell County, Texas, the pattern is impossible to miss - certain streets feel lighter, certain buildings heavier, and the water tower at the northeast edge of town carries something that has no business being in a municipal structure. When Tate lands and starts asking questions, he finds that he is not the only one who sees. There's Matt, who knows things before they happen and says so at full volume in the school cafeteria. There's Wren, who walks the same streets Carmen Ruiz has walked for thirty years, praying each house by name, learning what faithful invisible work actually costs. There's Marcus, whose grandmother's illness makes abstract faith suddenly very practical. And there's Lily - quiet, precise, and in possession of something that has been frightening people around her since she was three years old. Together, guided by Tate's grandfather Pop - a former rodeo cowboy who found God on the back roads of central Texas and has spent forty years developing the language for what he saw - the group begins to understand what they're carrying. And why they were given it. Book One of the Watchers series. A story about discernment, the gifts of the Spirit, and the moment you realize the war is real and you've been drafted. When Tate lands and starts asking questions, he finds that he is not the only one who sees.
There’s Matt, who knows things before they happen and says so at full volume in the school cafeteria. There’s Wren, who walks the same streets Carmen Ruiz has walked for thirty years, praying each house by name, learning what faithful invisible work actually costs. There’s Marcus, whose grandmother’s illness makes abstract faith suddenly very practical. And there’s Lily — quiet, precise, and in possession of something that has been frightening people around her since she was three years old.
Together, guided by Tate’s grandfather Pop — a former rodeo cowboy who found God on the back roads of central Texas and has spent forty years developing the language for what he saw — the group begins to understand what they’re carrying. And why they were given it.
Book One of the Watchers series. A story about discernment, the gifts of the Spirit, and the moment you realize the war is real and you’ve been drafted.
