For four thousand years the church has held in its possession the oldest and most precisely documented framework for understanding non-human intelligence and its relationship to the human world. It is not a fringe theory. It is not sensational speculation. It is written in the Hebrew of Genesis 6, confirmed in the oldest surviving literature of the ancient Near East, affirmed without dissent by the Second Temple Jewish community that stood closest to the text in time and language, and cited by New Testament apostles as established tradition.

What this book establishes:
The bene ha-Elohim of Genesis 6 - the sons of God - are heavenly beings whose identity is established without ambiguity by their usage in every other occurrence in the Hebrew Bible. The Nephilim are hybrid offspring whose existence the created order had no proper place for. The flood was not primarily a moral judgment against general human wickedness: it was a surgical intervention to preserve the one uncorrupted human lineage through which the promised Seed would come. Jesus invoked these days by name as the structural template for his return.
The ancient world remembered this event independently. The Sumerian King List, the Atrahasis Epic, the Mesopotamian apkallu tradition, the Ugaritic Rephaim texts, the Greek Titan tradition - five civilizations with no access to Genesis, each preserving in their oldest surviving literature the structural memory of a pre-flood world in which non-human beings interacted with and intermingled with humanity, producing powerful hybrid beings, provoking catastrophic divine judgment.
The Second Temple Jewish world - the interpretive community closest to the text in time and language - read Genesis 6 without a single dissenting voice as the account of a supernatural incursion. The Book of the Watchers (1 Enoch), the Book of Jubilees, the Book of Giants from Qumran, the Damascus Document - all reflect this unanimous reading. Jude and 2 Peter cite it directly as established apostolic tradition. The Sethite interpretation does not appear until Julius Africanus in the third century AD. It is the novelty, not the recovery.
The conflict does not end with the flood.
