From award-winning author LaVerne St. George comes a reunion romance between a quiet librarian and a former high school jock, two people hoping to change directions in their lives, both caught in the nets of the past.
No one would describe Marian Fletcher as outgoing. In high school, she resembled wallpaper, watching the in-crowd, led by tennis star Burton Gillespie, from afar. Now, her cataloging job at the university library keeps her away from public areas. She has a passion for ducks and stamp collecting. But lately, a restlessness within suggests her solitude has become isolation. She feels it’s time to spread her wings, and relying on divine help, Marian plans to apply for the position of Science Librarian when it opens up.
Burton “Gill” Gillespie has just moved back to Wilmington, NC and landed a university position. It's his dream job, if only he can maintain some distance from his wealthy family who always wanted a more affluent future for him -- not a job as a lowly biology professor. Those years away from home and his family did teach him that the high school jock, the tennis star, was mostly a role. He has another side, deep and quiet. A side that doesn’t meet the expectations of either his family or the women he’s dated so far. He’s determined to find a balance in his life and with help from God, he’s sure he can.
Everything changes when Gill (still handsome, still out of her league) moves into Marian's duplex with nothing but a wall separating them. Both have mixed feelings when Gill is assigned as Marian's partner on a work project critical to both their professional lives. With Gill's help, Marian awakens to a larger life outside her net of quiet as well as to love. The future looks promising. However, Gill is caught in his own net, bound by family expectations and a childhood girlfriend, a net he fails to acknowledge until it threatens his chances with the woman he loves.

Informazioni sull’autore
First there were crayon drawings in grade school, then books of space travel, mysteries and espionage. I've always carried stories in my head and written them down. In college, my aunt sent me a box of books, including Kathleen Woodiwiss' "The Flame and the Flower". I caught Romance fever and never looked back. Now with several books and awards to my credit, I continue to write and promote books that lift the Spirit. When I'm not writing, I enjoy needlework, bird watching, traveling, and jigsaw puzzles. I'm an avid fan of romance in all its variety, and my favorite diversion is a well-written book with a happy ending.
