Light overall wear; private owner stamp to ffep; text evenly toned due to stock; else good or better, with the original wrapper rarely encountered in commerce. First and only edition of an early German manual on advertising, with chapters on street advertising, shop window advertising, company signs, the modern poster (with numerous examples of Art Nouveau poster design), poster technique, types of posters, the history and rules of inserts, and an overview of the economic significance of advertising. Special attention is given to German and French examples of printed decorative advertisements. In addition to drawn borders, the author also focuses on typographic means of expression and sample composition of text and image. Volger was born in 1875 and worked in Leipzig as a publisher and editor, founding his own publishing house in 1906. As of October 2025, KVK, OCLC show a small handful of copies in Gerrmany, and one each in France and Denmark, with none found in North America.
