There was a consistent stagnation in some parts of Indian Economy till 1991. But after adoption of new economic reforms some stagnated parts experienced robust growth but some still lagged behind such as poverty, employment, population, living standard, price stability, Agriculture etc. Moreover the new economic reforms accelerated the pace of economic disparity and regional imbalance more profoundly. In such scenario it is very much necessary to study Indian Economy as a whole before and after 1991. In this respect the frameworks of this syllabus have kept a great vision regarding knowledge and inquisitiveness among students.
