Since our society is 100% dependent on electricity and power, imagine what would happen if the power grid, all electronic devices and systems, and everything powered by electricity shut off in an instant and stayed off.
What would happen then?
While many preppers and ordinary people alike have heard about EMP attacks, I’ve noticed that far fewer of these people actually understand what the consequences of an EMP are really going to be.
There have been a lot of misconceptions about EMPs; I’ve seen some people disregard them as not being that serious of a threat, and other people believing that it would be the end of civilization akin to a worldwide nuclear war.
Neither of these scenarios is exactly correct, and the truth is somewhere in the middle.
What would happen as a result of an EMP attack is also dependent on factors such as where an EMP weapon would be detonated and the altitude in the atmosphere it’s detonated at, among other things.
I want to make sure that we’re all on the same page about what an EMP attack is in the first place and what’s going to happen if an EMP event ever occurs.
That’s why I sat down to put a list together of the top questions (and misconceptions) I’ve seen people have about EMP attacks.
