Second edition, second printing (as stated upon copyright page and on dj front panel). 223 pages. Hardcover: H 33.25cm x L 25.5cm. Cream colored dust jacket lightly soiled with nicks, short tears, and some bumping; two small stains at front panel's bottom center; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. White cloth spine with gilt stamping; white boards. Some light staining to text block's top edge. Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. Originally published in 1927 by the American Institute of Architects as the first book in an intended series (The Octagon Library of Early American Architecture) reviewing the architectural heritage of the eastern United States but, alas, the successive volumes were never published due to economic calamity of the Great Depression; the second edition was published in 1970 with this second printing following a decade later.
