nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - In the remote Davis Mountains of West Texas, old orders do not always die with the men who gave them.Martin and Lindsay Eastman have already learned that the land around their home can hold memories of violence, guilt, and unfinished business. But when a new series of disturbing events begins to unfold, the danger seems different. People are drawn toward death by forces they do not understand, and each incident appears connected to a forgotten military disaster buried deep in the history of Fort Davis. As Lindsay searches old records for answers, Martin begins to suspect that the past is not merely repeating itself. Something is still giving orders.Their investigation uncovers the story of a doomed cavalry detachment, a commander whose authority outlived his command, and men who may never have realized that the battle ended more than a century ago. As the moon wanes and the pattern grows stronger, the Eastmans and Sheriff Villareal race to understand the rules of the haunting before another life is lost.To stop it, they may have to do more than confront a ghost. They may have to finish an order left unresolved since the nineteenth century.Set among the cliffs, high desert, historic forts, and wide skies of the Davis Mountains, Echoes of Command is a supernatural mystery about history, duty, memory, and the terrible power of a command that refuses to die.…

Four years after surviving the haunting that nearly destroyed their family, Martin and Lindsay Eastman have rebuilt their lives in the Davis Mountains of West Texas. They have children, a growing vineyard, and every reason to believe the dead have finally left them alone.
Then a gifted high school football player dies by suicide.
Before his death, Tony Mortin and four friends trespassed onto the grounds of Fort Davis after midnight. Beneath the light of a setting first-quarter Moon, they heard the thunder of cavalry horses racing across the empty parade ground. A strange silver cloud swept toward them, passed directly through Tony, and vanished.
Afterward, Tony was different.
When Sheriff Armando Villareal discovers that Tony left behind a single mysterious name, Spandel, and three unexplained numbers, the investigation begins to reach backward through history. Forgotten county records reveal other witnesses, separated by decades, who described the same impossible horses, the same luminous formation, and the same disturbing change in those it touched.
The pattern leads Martin, Lindsay, Villareal, and Tony’s former girlfriend, Faye Ortega, toward the buried history of Major William Spandel and a cavalry command that ended in disaster more than a century ago.
But the soldiers are not simply haunting Fort Davis.
They are still following orders.
And as the first-quarter Moon returns, the dead begin reaching for the living once again.
Set among the stark rhyolite cliffs, isolated ranches, historic military ruins, and dark skies of the Davis Mountains, Echoes of a Command is a supernatural mystery about guilt, duty, grief, and the terrible power of an order that was never truly rescinded.
The dead still march when an old command remains.
