Does this sound like you?
“Throughout my life, people have advised me to “not care so much”, to “be less passionate”, to “stop putting others ahead of myself”, and I internalized these statements to mean that something was wrong with me, I wasn’t normal. No matter how tough I tried to be, or tried to shut down, I could not turn off my internal nature of feeling so intensely. I also felt like I had no way of defending myself from people who wanted to take advantage of me, I had no concept of self-protection. It took many years, and much self-work to address these issues and to understand that my innate nature and abilities did not need to be shut down, but needed to be understood, balanced, and utilized in ways that were healthy for me, not making me a target for more pain and disappointment.” -- Chapter 1, The Educated Empath.
If this experience sounds familiar, you may be an Empath, and this is an excellent beginner’s guide for you to learn about your abilities!
Understanding and managing these abilities are the only ways to survive and to find peace - in order to help yourself, and in turn, help others. However, before we can develop these abilities, we must first understand how our daily lives, careers, and relationships are affected. By understanding ourselves better, we can shift and grow, and create space to welcome change and integrate new information.
The Educated Empath is a beginner’s guide that details:
• The Empath Experience – details relatable information to help you identify how your life has been influenced as an Empath.
• Understanding the Empath – includes an extensive questionnaire asking how your abilities impacted you throughout your life from childhood to adulthood, to health and work, and your relationships.
• Gifts and Challenges of Being an Empath – highlights the differences between empathy and sympathy; and incorporates real life scenarios and suggestions on handling challenges.
• The Empath at Work – details the best and worst work environments for Empaths.
• Alienation of an Empath – shows how our culture separates Empaths and reduces their self-esteem.
• Coping Mechanisms – discusses how we create Empath coping mechanisms to support us and the long-term effects.
• Healing Tools – introduces affirmations and redirection to combat common beliefs; delivers EASY changes and ACTIONS to shift energy, cleanse your environment, and bring joy into your life.
• Moving Forward – explores steps and suggestions for moving forward and changing your life!
This book will help you:
• Gain clarity on what it means to be an Empath and how you are different than most people around you.
• Learn about the gifts and challenges of being an Empath.
• Explore many self-care practices to bring peace to your life.
This book was written about Empaths, for Empaths, by an Empath.
