Pam Flowers is an adventurer who has hiked the entire Appalachian Trail, completed the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, and mushed to the magnetic North Pole twice. She was also the first woman to travel alone with a dog team 2,500 miles across Arctic America. She lives in Alaska. Bill Farnsworth has illustrated more than 50 childrens books, including Abbie Against the Storm, Big Enough Anna, Buffalo Song, and the Kaya books in the American Girl series, which was a New York Times bestseller. He lives in Venice, Florida.
