Initials edition in red cloth boards with title of gold lettering in a central circle and without the author's initials in gold book pages in top circle. Single grand in-8. In french, all edges gilt, blue-grey end pages, tissue guarded frontispiece, back cover Magnier type {c2}. With 42 illustrations by Benett, 6 in color [1 plate missing]. No catalog. Jauzac page 131. Paris: Bibliothèque d'éducation et de récréation; J. Hetzel et cie. (1896), 221 pages. Good. Loss of gilt on large part of cover, faded spine with cloth tears along rear joint, forward lean, one of the six color plates is missing, small bookstore stamp on first free end page. I have previously listed complete sets of UK and US Verne first editions. Now I am starting on a collection of 400 1st editions in French.
