Crera, general officer commanding-in-chief of the First Canadian Army. In the forward General Crerar writes that the post-war period was a difficult for soldiers of all ranks. He outlines a number of requirements that all ranks of the First Canadian Army must fulfill in the post-hostilities period, which are as follows: sufficient military training; physical fitness; the further education and technical instruction for all ranks to facilitate their return to civil activities; recreation facilities for off-duty periods.
