Can first love survive the second time around?

Halo Donovan has her life under control. Her close friendships, family, and a recent promotion to Accounts Receivable Manager at her law firm, keep her fulfilled and content. Other than a disastrous date here and there, she’s rarely thrown for a loop. That is, until she’s introduced to the new director of finance: the man who first shattered her heart.

Frustrated with his dead-end job and the strained relationship with his father, Levi Evans is ready for a fresh start. Desperate for a change, Levi jumps at the opportunity to move across the country and into the role of Finance Director at a prestigious law firm. He never expected that it would bring him face-to-face with the love of his life—the woman he still regrets walking away from eleven years ago.

Levi knew working with his ex wouldn’t be easy, but Halo’s utter disdain for his mere presence makes it nearly impossible. However, when friendship finally rekindles, Halo and Levi realize that the romantic feelings of their past are now front and center in their daily lives. But as Levi is confronted with brewing tensions and family secrets, his old ways of handling emotional trauma threaten to push Halo away for good.

Can Halo and Levi’s love story survive this time around? Or are they doomed to repeat history?
