They had to forage and hunt for the foods they consumed. They ate their food at the peak of its freshness. It didn't travel hundreds or thousands of miles to wind up on a dusty shelf.Sure, this wasn't an easy lifestyle, and the grocery store is more convenient, but wouldn't you like to be a little more self-sustaining Contrary to what many people may believe, foraging is still a popular thing for some.
