Neuware - 'The Foreign Student in America' is a comprehensive sociological and educational study examining the experiences, challenges, and impact of international students within the United States during the early 20th century. Authored by W. Reginald Wheeler, Henry King, and Alexander Davidson, the work provides an in-depth analysis of the growing trend of global migration for higher education and the unique position of the foreign scholar in American society. The text explores various facets of the student experience, from academic pursuits and social integration to the influence of American culture on visiting scholars. It investigates the administrative and social responsibilities of host institutions, offering insights into how universities can better support diverse populations. By documenting the demographic shifts and the exchange of ideas facilitated by international education, the book serves as a vital historical record of American global engagement in the post-World War I era.Through its rigorous investigation of religious, social, and political influences, 'The Foreign Student in America' highlights the importance of cross-cultural understanding. It remains an essential resource for those interested in the history of higher education, the evolution of international relations, and the foundational practices of modern student exchange programs. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
