Doubtless at Home

One beautiful cool morning in the misty air of the woods is a baby turtle named Doubtless, trying her first steps to walk down a pathway lined with white rocks and wild flowers. "Where is everybody? Maybe I can look for George, my dear friend. He will show me where everyone is." So Doubtless, as her sister calls her, continued on to find George, the teen hare, who loves to hop down the riverside digging for wild carrots.

Looking for his friend George

Soon enough she found bed of carrot leaves along the Riverside. Right behind the huge tree one can hear crunchy noises and lo and behold she finds George digging hard and splashing muddy soil all around.

"Hi! George, what are you doing?"

"Hi, Doubtless. I am just getting ready for a picnic this afternoon. I'm gathering enough for all our buddies. Are you coming with us?"

"I don't know if my folks will let me."

The Ride Back Home

"I could not find my family. I was asleep a long time and every one was gone," Doubtless said.

"Your sister is in school and your mom is probably preparing your lunch. Your dad's at work. Did you look at the backyard?" said George. "No I didn't," Doubtless answered.

"Why don't I bring you home and we can play together until your mom arrives?"

"Can I ride on your back? I am a bit tired walking."

"O.K. Hop on and on we go!" said George playfully.

Mom's Family Secret

"Oh! Look, Mom is already home," exclaimed Doubtless. Her Mom was waving back telling them to go home.

"So, I thought you were still asleep," Doubtless' mom said.

"I missed you so I asked George to show me back home," Doubtless answered.

"Go ahead and wash up. You can have lunch with us, George.

"Thank you Mrs. Eternal! I'll be happy to join you!" George answered.

"Can you tell me how you got the name 'Doubtless'?" George asked.

Doubtless' Mom answered, "There is a letter telling me about my uncle who lived in the forest. He knew his way around the thick woods and he would help strangers who would pass by his house find their way. One day a stranger asked why he knew these directions so easily. My uncle answered that his ancestors believed a supernatural being called the Almighty. Almighty was giving them power to find the answers to everyday questions if you sincerely believed in him. Look up to the sky and believe."

"Also, when I was picking a name for my daughter, Doubtless came to my mind, meaning Confidence."

George said "Maybe we will ask our folks how we got our names, and if the Almighty also gave each family special gifts."

"Can I bring Doubtless to the picnic this afternoon?"

"Alright. I'll ask her sister to bring her to picnic. So long, George.

Say hello to your mom and dad for me."

Doubtless helped her mom with cleaning the table, handed her dishes to wash, and then waited for her sister to come home. Doubtless asked her Mom, "Do you think the supreme being in the sky like us?" "Yes, he adores us all. We are his creations. He made us to keep him company here on earth and up there in the sky."

"How do you know if he is around, mommy?"

"You have a great feeling of comfort and warmth and he will guide you to where you want to go?"

"I had that kind of feeling this morning while I was looking for you."

"That means he knew I needed help and he helped me remember George. Thank you for telling me that Mom. I am like my great uncle. How about sister Ann? What does her name mean?

Mom said she was named Ann because of her gracefulness and willowy nature.

Heart to Heart Talk with Sister

Doubtless' sister came home and brought Doubtless a snack. Doubtless was so eager to tell her about her granduncle's story.

"Yes, my dear. I love remembering our uncle too. He helped me also. Many times when Mom and Dad were not home and I had a problem, I would think of Great Uncle and follow what he does. It gives me a great feeling that I will understand my problem better. He is like a mommy and daddy in the sky," sister Ann replied.

"I can't wait to tell my friends at the picnic. Will you take me there?" asked Doubtless. Doubtless' sister Ann promised to take her if she rested a little while she organized her homework. Mom prepared a picnic basket with kiwi cake and carrot cake for her girls and they both got dressed to go the picnic.

The Great Picnic Revelation

Every one of their family friends came. Furry family brothers made some candy and chocolate treats. The green dancing twin frogs danced and entertained. The zooming humming bird cousins brought sesame seeds and the brown family hamsters bought basket of blueberries and raspberries. The hamsters were accompanied by their grandma. Our neighbors, Yuki and Bruce, the Siamese cats brought dandelion flowers for snacks. And the bright light goldfish family were charge of the lights for the picnic grounds. Elly, the baby elephant brought fresh water and punch.

Elly's duckling pals came. The humming birds brought Screech the owl and her cousin along with their pal parrot Pauline. Each enjoyed the food and wonderful stories about their ancestors. Grandma Hamster was asked by everyone about what she remembers about the Almighty who lives in the sky. She is a dear friend of Doubtless' great Uncle. She promised that next spring when the Almighty's creations is in full bloom, she will reveal some of their ancestors' great stories. It appears that the Supreme Being intended them to have a great time in the woods.

Everyone was eager to exchange stories about their names. Yuki, one of the Siamese cat brothers mentioned that he was named for first white snow in island of Japan. Bruce added that he was named after a powerful karate cat ancestor because he is fast and frisky.

Dancing frog, Green Horn, was named for the loud noise he makes when he announces his surprise arrival. His sister, Leap Jade, leaps and bounces so high on her lily pad when she hops and dances.

George, the first son of the Hare Family, was named after a human President because he is wise and loves to help. His brother, Swifty, got his name because he is rapid like the swift wind when he runs.

Elly the elephant got his name because he is persuasive and eloquent. His brother Thunder was named after his loud thunderous thump when he walks.

Zoom the humming bird was named so because of her speedy appearance when she arrives, and sister Zesty for her lively enthusiasm.

The goldfish brothers, Shine, Blaze and Speed were named after their great glow in the dark color, his fiery sunset color and for his quick wit.

The parrot sisters, Echo and Mimy, were named after their talent for imitating and repeating exact sounds they hear.

The duckling brothers Shun and Dodge were named after their elusiveness and fast way of swimming away from danger in the rivers.

Grandma Hamster counseled them to use their name of abilities only for good as the Almighty willed them to do. She said that only then will they be ready for their next meeting in the spring. "Go home and rest and receive these blessings you carry with great attitude and harmony towards each other."

Everyone understood what their family name stood for. What a great time they had together.

First Spring Festival

Early to Rise, Early to Cook

It is early spring morning. There is singing in the kitchen and I can smell cinnamon and chocolate. Sister Ann must be at home. I stretched and started getting up so I can be part of what's going on in the kitchen. "Good morning Sis!" "What are you making?" "I am making cinnamon rolls for a friend of mine, but I have extra for you and mom. "Is it your friend's birthday?" Doubtless asked. "How did you know?" Ann said. "I guessed it." Doubtless answered.

"My friend had been sick and did not come to school for the last few days, so I made her something that would cheer her up." replied Sister Ann.

"Can I help?" Doubtless added. "Ok, go and wash up, and you can dry your hands and help me roll the dough". So Doubtless kneaded his hands to the starchy ball of flour. "Can I give some to my friends?" asked Doubtless. Her sister asked her to clean after she is done.

Baking with Sister Anne for a Sick Friend Doubtless tried to clean but the table and floor were still messy.

Mom soon followed the scent of cinnamon. "You woke up early Doubtless".

"What is all this?" Looking at the messy table. "I could not keep up with the mess." "Sister went to her friend's house and then went to school."

"She told me to clean up but I got tired Mom." "Next time follow what she says so she can trust you with other things." "Your Dad is still at work and I need to prepare for the Spring Festival."

"Can I go with you?" Yes, you rest a little and I'll call you when I'm ready".

"Mom must we clean all after we do something?" Her mom explained that a clean kitchen will help us so we do not get sick. Dirt can cause mold and bacteria to grow on the place where we eat.

Her mom told her, that we should do what our elder sister says so we can be safe from bad things that could happen if we do not obey. We could get sick or slip on the floor if there is oil or water from the table.

Helping Mom for the Spring Festival

It is a good day, the Sun is shining, and it is so good to smell the fragrant roses and gardenias in our yard. We met some of mom's friends and neighbors, and they are all excited exchanging plans as to what to bring to the Festival.

Doubtless was wondering why they have festivals. Mom explained that we are offering thanks to our friends, neighbors and specially to our Almighty in the sky, for giving us good weather to grow food in the yard and helping us have wonderful friends, who help us in times of need.

"Mom, I have good friends too, can I bring them something too?" "Yes of course. You know Grandma Hamster Brown will be telling us stories of our ancestors. We want to come early with my friends to the festival."

Dad, Doubtless and Sister Ann arrived home and they all started to pack and head for the festival.

Preparing for the Great Games

The grass is vividly green and wildflowers are swaying with the soft Breeze as if they are dancing. There is an aura of great jubilee in the atmosphere, in the sky with our feathered friends. In the river is our Frog Family and the Goldfish Family. On land are the Elli's Elephant Family, the Hare Family, and the Hamster Brown Family, Uke and Bruce Siamese Cat Family, as if all were joined together by a heavenly force.

Everyone was trailing each other to meet in the middle of the lovely forest with their tables, umbrella, music, and best of all, the great smelling foods each family brought. It was their own favorite dishes to share with one another, and a few games that they can play during the whole day.

The Thanksgiving Dinner

The Elli elephant family volunteered to do a few rides for her young friends up and down the small hill.

The hare family started a mini race with the cat family and the hamster brothers brought their ferris wheel to play with the zoom humming birds.

The dancing frogs were teaching a few hopping tricks with the duckling family while the furry cat was playing a mini banjo.

The goldfish family were doing their special dives in the self-made mini pool.

Everyone helped set the table for the food and drinks. They all got ready to eat sharing all our homemade dishes and getting acquainted with each other.

Then after they had a great supper, grandma hamster brown told her ancestor stories around the table so all the young one's could listen carefully.

Grandma Hamster Brown and Greatest Story Ever Told Everyone was in awe about the baby from the sky and felt so good to hear about Jesus Emmanuel. They were also happy that a great friend named, Saint (meaning Holy) Francis, from the wine country was specially chosen to watch over all the animals on Earth.

Grandma Hamster brown lead a prayer of thanksgiving to the Baby from the Sky, and to Saint Francis, their special friend, who told our Ancestors that we were all given special abilities to use here on earth. Also to bring a special calm and loving warmth and provision during difficult times. Doubtless, Sister Ann, and their parents, were so happy that all the families who came, whistled a happy tune all the way home. They were all glad to learn that our heavenly father is taking care of all of them.

Doubtless Adventures With the Tyrant Stranger

The Tyrant Stranger

The forest have changed colors almost golden brown; leaves where swishing and falling down in layers because of sudden gush of strong winds from the mountains. There seems to be a lot of rambling coming from an unknown source. There are gray and dark clouds beginning to accumulate and in between these sunless curtain of clouds a few sparks of light can be seen.

A long lasting shriek sound on the highest point of the mountain terrain can be heard. There hovering above the large expand of forest trees, is the great Bald Eagle trying to announce an imminent treacherous situation.

The parrot sisters aware of this kind of sound echoed the sound back to the rest of her friends in the forest thinking a force of nature or disturbance in the ocean is soon to arrive.

Green Horn frog likewise bellowed to confirm the danger he heard from Paulin the parrot and the hooting alarm by screechy owl. The goldfish Blaze along with sisters Shine and Speed lead a trail Of illumination from each other in order to guide the other animal friends on the river to move to higher area of the river. The hamster family warned their family and ground hog cousins to pick a large hollow trunk to take shelter in till they can arrange another final place for protection.

In the meantime Great Bald Eagle called Falcon cousins and the Hunter hawks to look for the source of rambling and bald Eagle's, keen eyes spotted multiple large rippling of water building up like a huge and wide angry monstrous damn of ocean water coming towards Land. All the feathered large birds of prey began looking for Elli's elephant family and falcon brothers woke up the Lion Family to See if they can help evacuate all their family and friends in the forest.

Doubtless finally awakened by Sister Ann and the entire Eternal family kneeled and look up the sky to pray like their favorite uncle so they can find ways to gather food and protection for the some of their forest family.

Mom and Dad Eternal heard some echo from the seas suggesting their sea turtle family may came to help them. They are the largest of the turtle family living in the deep salty waters of the ocean floor. She was told through special vibrations that they recruited the Blue Whales and Gray Dolphins to assist as the latter are fast Swimmers.

Grandma hamster brown have pleaded her friends in the ground to get to higher point of any hill while she envisioned a great help from large animals to give the smaller animals a ride to higher ground through her prayers.

Meanwhile a thunderous sound followed by a large sharp sound of lightning landed on the trees and caught fire. Elli's sister thump began to swallow some water from the river and splashed the trees that are in blazing fury afraid of spreading it to rest of forest she thumped the trunk to un-root some down before her family helped splashed water and sand to stop the fire.

Then Grandma Brown Hamster asked all large animals to uproot some of large trees to build a damn in the hope of slowing the upcoming Danger headed towards them.

The Rhino Clan volunteered to help Elli the Elephant in pushing and building the dam out of huge tree trunks and stones and rock boulders that they could find. They great Horned Rhino oldest of the clan helped as he has the biggest Horns in their family.

The Lion family started to bring smaller animals including doubtless and hare family to higher Ground and the Leopards likewise speed through the ground to accommodate the ground hog the chipmunk and summoned the deer family to follow their trail safety The Donkey family were summoned by the falcons to gather and help Monkey family and gather coconuts, bananas and fruits among the trees that have not been burned and carry them to Mountain Lion's cave where they can hide.

Bald Eagle returned to see where the forest family are and she found the blue whales trying to help some of sea friends out of the dangerous waters.

The gray dolphin family like navy submarines spread a zooming sound in the waters and rushed to help the sea turtle family and sting rays out of the caving under water ground that started the monstrous angry water to move out to great forest Land.

The roaring monstrous tidal wave finally hit the shores splashing back and forth the beach sand removing half of the living territory of the forest family.

Grandma Sea turtle also got stranded and is quite tired. The land animals made it to the mountain lions cave the rest nearby had started to help everyone that was hurt to find help for them. Grandma Sea Turtle and Ma Eternal chewed aloe Vera leaves to put on wounds of the whales and other forest friends wounds and buzzer bees honey were used for whale wounds as they have some protection from bacteria and fungi according to Grandma Sea Turtle(she learned this from her human friends).
