Privately printed for Donald and Mary Hyde, Four Oaks Farm, Somerville, NJ, 1967; two volumes, 8vo, 160 x 240mm in a custom slip case, the books bound with fine black cloth spines, titled gilt, grey sides, the slipcase in gold, back and grey pseudo-marbled boards, all in fine condition; pp [xi], 113 and xxii, 135; frontispiece and numerous photographs in each volume; colophon to each volume reading - '1000** copies of this volume were completed in November, 1967. The text, in English Monotype Baskerville, was printed on Curtis Rag paper by Clarke & Way at The Thistle Press, with illustrations printed by the Meriden Gravure Company and binding by the Russell-Rutter Company, the entire work having been designed by P.J. Conkwright.' ** The Library volume has a limitation of 1250 copies. . . . . The Farm volume carries on the front fly the holograph inscription 'For Michael Harvey - now a part of the Four Oaks story Mary Hyde April 1981' . . . . The Hydes' house, Four Oaks Farm, is a large estate in Somerville and soon after their marriage in 1939 the couple began on what was to become a major private library part of which became the greatest collection of Samuel Johnson in private hands; this is now in the Houghton Library at Harvard. Other sections of the library include the Oscar Wilde Collection, the Henry Fielding Collection, the English Drama Collection, a Japanese Collection, an Architecture Collection, a Forgery Collection, a Collection of Fine Bindings, a Sporting Books Collections, and many other books which didn't fit neatly into such categories. Some of these discrete collections were sold to benefit other libraries, others themselves ended up in academic and reference libraries including the British Library. . . . . Donald Hyde died in 1966, before the publication of these volumes, although he had played a large part in their genesis and had contributed in anticipation. The recipient of these volumes, Michael Harvey, was a noted typeface designer, lettering artist and writer and lecturer who began his commercial career as an assistant to Reynolds Stone, working near Bridport, Dorset, who over his life produced some 1,500 book jacket designs for major publishers. . . . . Books are described carefully, accurately and fairly. Despite this errors can occur and of course we'll acknowledge any brought to our attention. If this error is material then we'll either make an appropriate partial refund or allow you to return the book at our cost and make a full refund of the book and postage costs originally paid by you.
We also want you to be happy with your purchase and if having a received a book you decide promptly you no longer want to buy it please feel free to return it without necessarily giving any cause or justification for doing so but after advising us by email or telephone that you plan to do so and receiving due acknowledgement. In such cases the cost of returning the book as well as the original postage cost will fall on you but you'll receive a prompt refund of the cost of the book itself.

Hai il diritto di recedere dal presente contratto entro 14 giorni senza fornire alcuna motivazione.
Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a Chesil Books, DORCHESTER, United Kingdom, +44 1308 897231, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
