Paperback. Sometimes the simplest questions are the ones that resist being answered. Not because they hide an inaccessible mystery, nor because the universe has chosen to conceal them deliberately, but because in their apparent simplicity they demand something we rarely know how to offer: an answer that preserves intact the purity of the question. Without embellishment. Without complex structures. Without the human need to turn what is essential into something sophisticated in order to make it comprehensible. And yet, the essential has never been complex. It has always been. profound.Nature is not a stranger. It never has been. There is no distance between it and us, even though we have spent centuries insisting on creating one. Every being, every moment of consciousness, every seemingly individual gesture is, in truth, the silent sum of millions of lives before it. We are memory. Not a conscious, ordered, accessible memory, but an older one, inscribed in the invisible, transmitted without words, without intention, without needing to be remembered. That memory does not think. It does not interpret. It does not doubt. It simply. knows. It knows how to grow, how to adapt, how to survive. It knows without learning and acts without questioning itself. It is the primary language of life, older even than the idea of knowledge. And within that memory, intact and persistent, lies something modern humanity has forgotten how to recognise: continuity. We are not a beginning. Nor are we even a clear midpoint. We are a constant transition within a process that does not seek to arrive anywhere in particular. Within that flow without destination dwells Gaia. The name does not matter, because no name was spoken when everything began. Gaia is not a goddess in the sense that humanity needs to understand the divine. She does not observe, does not judge, does not grant or punish. She has no will and no intention. She is older than any concept of divinity. She is the very idea of life before the word "life" existed. She is the sum of all the balances that have been, are, and will be. She is the force that creates without meaning to and destroys without realising it. Because nature does not decide. Nature happens. And yet, at some point within that uninterrupted happening, an unexpected anomaly emerged. A form of consciousness capable of looking at itself, of asking about its origin, of attempting to understand what had always been understood without the need for words: the human being. With it came questions. And with questions, doubt. And with doubt, the need for answers. But not just any answers. Answers that fit its logic. Answers that return to it a central position in a universe where it never had one. Since then, every seemingly simple question - what are we?; where do we come from?; what place do we occupy? - has been nothing more than an attempt to return to that origin we never left, but from which we believe ourselves separated. Because the greatest paradox of human existence is this: searching outside for what has always been within. This book is born in that point of tension. In that almost imperceptible space where human consciousness, laden with history, language, and intention, encounters that which made it possible but never needed it in order to exist. It is a dialogue between two ways of being that share the same root yet have taken different paths. Between what we are now. and what we were before we could say -we are. Gaia will not answer as humanity expects because she has no need to. And humanity will not ask as it should because it has forgotten how. Between them, something more than words will remain. The echo of a truth that belongs to no one. yet one that all of us, at some moment, recognise. Because before we were born, we were already part of that voice. And when we stop hearing it.
