The dedication page (To General Grant) is soiled and detached. The title page appears to be missing. The first chapter "Arabian Stallions "Leopard" and "Linden Tree"" begins at page five. So I believe the title page and perhaps a preface is missing. All of the text is present as page five is the begining of the first chapter. The text block is nearly detached from the boards. No foxing. Very little tanning to the pages. Supple and well preserved. Plate of Linden Tree dated 1880 is in perfect condition. Plate of General Beale is in perfect condition. Plate of Hegira is in perfect condition. Plate of Old Henry Clay is in perfect condition. 66 pages. Measures about 12" x 9-1/2" with green cloth and beveled boards. Gold design and lettering on the front cover is bright. This book came from the estate of the Van Vleet family. They owned and operated the Lazy vv ranch near Nederland Colorado starting in the 40's. The ranch is well known for their Arabian horses.
