Written versions of the six lectures delivered at a June 2009 summer school at the University of Ottawa explore lie algebras and its representations, a topic that can be technically abstract at times, but is well connected and applied to many other disciplines such as geometry, topology, mathematical physics, and algebraic combinatorics.
