A handbook of the spooky secrets along California's State Route 49. After the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill in 1848, droves of people flocked to the Golden State seeking their fortunes. More than 150 years later, their ghosts remain, awaiting discovery. Organized geographically, this tome covers more than 70 haunted sites in Sacramento, Coloma, Auburn, and Folsom, among many others, including addresses of each locale and practical guidelines to organizing a ghost hunt.

Dalla quarta di copertina
"Once again Jeff Dwyer has produced an engaging and unique book on the paranormal. Ghost Hunter's Guide to California's Gold Rush Country is full of all the small details and little-known historical facts that make it hard to put down. A perfect read on those dark, lonely nights when only a golden ghost tale will do!"
-Jackie Ganiy, president and lead paranormal investigator of S.P.I.R.I.T. in Sonoma County
The ultimate resource for discovering the spine-tingling historic haunts along California's State Route 49, this guidebook examines more than seventy of the Gold Rush Country's most ghostly sites, including stops in Sacramento, Stockton, Mariposa, Sonora, Coloma, and many others.
Reporting on sightings from the famed ghost of Juanita at the Yuba River Bridge in Downieville to the multitude of specters haunting the mid-nineteenth-century Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley, the book is organized geographically to assist both the tourist and the traveling paranormal investigator. Including addresses for each site, information about how to plan a ghost hunt, and suggested equipment lists, this paranormal history tour will have readers grabbing their cameras, metal detectors, and Bibles to go out and meet the past face to shadowy face.
Jeff Dwyer, an expert ghost hunter, has been fascinated by ghost lore since boyhood. A much-sought-after paranormal investigator, Dwyer makes appearances on the Syfy channel's Destination Truth and is a regular guest on local and national radio and television programs. He is the author of Ghost Hunter's Guide to California's Wine Country, Ghost Hunter's Guide to the San Francisco Bay Area, Ghost Hunter's Guide to Los Angeles, Ghost Hunter's Guide to New Orleans, and Ghost Hunter's Guide to Seattle and Puget Sound, all published by Pelican. He lives in Fairfield, California.
