Leaving behind the cameras, the parties, and the carefully constructed world her father built for her, Lina steals away in her 1979 purple Mustang with no destination, no plan, and no phone. When the car breaks down on a deserted road at dawn, the last thing she expects is to be rescued by a woman who makes her want to stay.
Hermenville is a small town with a slow river, good people, and no reason to know her name. For the first time in years, Lina can breathe.
But her father was not the man she thought he was. And the life she ran from is about to follow her.
When a mysterious briefcase surfaces — left by a father who died before she could ask him the right questions — Lina discovers a truth that rewrites everything she knows about her childhood, her training, and herself. Someone wants what's inside that briefcase. And they are not going to stop looking.
There She Goes is a gripping debut novel of identity, secrets, and unexpected love — where the most dangerous thing Lina Marks has ever done isn't facing armed men in the dark. It's letting someone in.
