Dealing with every situation from tee to green in an entertaining and understandable way, Peter Dobereiner's wit, but above all his deep understanding of the game, has not surprisingly extablished Golf Rules Explained as the everyday golfer's guide to the often complex rules of golf as laid down by the game's governing bodies. This eleventh edition has been fully revised and updated by Bill Elliot, leading golf writer for the The Observer and a close friend of the late, celebrated Dobereiner. Taking into account the latest rule changes as of January 2004 (the R&A revises the rules on a four-yearly cycle) Bill Elliot has brought this essential volume right up to date not only in terms of the latest rule changes, but also illustrating and explaining points with examples and anecdotes from recent history. It is required of every golfer that he should know the rules. Golf Rules Explained has proved that it is among the easiest and most entertaining ways to acquire the knowledge, not to mention a handy reference for settling disputes at the nineteenth hole.
