Ireland is Europes hottest golfing destination and one of the most popular golf venues for Americans eager to sample the emerald links. In his third edition, Armstrong revisits old courses that have undergone revision or expansion and uncovers the best of Irelands new golf clubs. He also reviews several new hotels and restaurants that cater to golfers and are near some of Irelands finest fairways. Courses designed by such golf greats as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson are included.

Ireland is one of the world's most popular golf destinations and Golfing in Ireland: The Most Complete Guide for Adventurous Golfers provides one-stop shopping for anyone contemplating a trip to the Emerald Isle.

In this third edition, author Rob Armstrong calls on his encyclopedic knowledge of Irish golf, his journalistic skills as a reporter, and his unique and appealing writing style to take a whole new look at the Irish golf scene. "I have attempted to present a biased, sometimes irreverent and iconoclastic review of the Irish golf courses that I have enjoyed playing the most," he says. "I have taken the same approach to the best hotels, restaurants, and other diversions in close proximity to the golf courses."

The book includes:
* Profiles of more than fifty top Irish golf courses
*Golf resorts and castles with golf courses
*The best golfing bargains
*Booking travel arrangements and tee times
*Packing tips
*Local customs, money, and tipping

Much of the focus is on Ireland's fabulous links on coastal courses, a type of golf most Americans never experience. The frankness, honesty, and cleverness of Armstrong's analysis make this an unparalleled guide--an essential tool for planning a successful journey.

Praise for Armstrong:

"This is a must-buy book for anybody who really wants to experience and enjoy the best
of Irish golf. . . . Rob Armstrong has combined distinguished journalism experience with
genuine love and knowledge of Irish golf."
--Aidan O'Connor, chief reporter, The Kerryman
