The Green Button Wish

Ty was running through the big meadow at his grandparents' farm. He was happy because he had come to spend the summer.
His favorite place in all the world was under the big, big tree that grew on the banks of the crystal-clear creek that turned and twisted its way down past the Enchanted Cottage to the beautiful waterfall at the edge of the forest. He knew this was a "magical" place!
Ty could hardly wait to see his special friends who lived under the big, big tree. First, there was Boo, the white caterpillar. Ty really enjoyed being with Boo! They were very good friends. Next, there was Miss Sara, the cricket. He had heard her sing many times. He had also eaten and enjoyed her cocoa jam sandwiches. Jimmy Jo, the firefly, never failed to tell him stories of his daring night flights to the beautiful waterfall and the Enchanted Cottage at the edge of the forest. His friends had told him about the Enchanted Cottage many times.
Ty found Boo, Miss Sara and Jimmy Jo well and delighted to see him! He told them how happy he was to be back and how much he had missed them. He also explained that he thought about them and especially the Enchanted Cottage, all during the winter. Ty told them he felt that this year he was old enough to travel to the Enchanted Cottage. They all agreed!!
Boo gave him a map. Ty thanked him. He could read the map even though it was written in caterpillar language. Miss Sara made him two cocoa jam sandwiches for his journey. Jimmy Jo promised that he would light Ty's way home if he happened to stay a little too late and needed a light to see his way back to his grandparents' farmhouse.
Boo, Miss Sara and Jimmy Jo waved goodbye and wished Ty a safe trip. His heart beating fast with anticipation and his eyes shining with excitement, Ty started out to find the Enchanted Cottage!!!
Ty was delighted when he arrived at the beautiful waterfall because there, beside it, just as his friends had promised, was the Enchanted Cottage! Ty could hardly believe that, after all this time, he was really seeing it. But, my goodness, it was SO SMALL. He would have to crawl just to get inside the door so he could peek around!
His friends, the caterpillar, the cricket and the firefly, were so tiny they didn't think about telling him how small it was. Well, he just "scrunched" down on his hands and knees and crawled through the door..
When he got inside, it was VERY BIG and he could stand up and walk around!! It WAS ENCHANTED!!! and although it was very small on the outside, it was VERY BIG on the inside! It was filled with beautiful, soft music, lovely flowers, ice cream, candy, toys to play with, and a soft cuddly dog named "Patrick"! Ty had never been in a happier place!
Suddenly there appeared an Orange and Blue Dotted Wizard!!! He welcomed Ty and told him he could come whenever he wished. The Wizard was always happy to have good boys and girls visit the Enchanted Cottage!!
The Orange and Blue dotted Wizard asked Ty to hold out his hand. Ty wasn't quite sure he wanted to, but he slowly stretched out his arm, and when he did the Wizard quickly dropped a LITTLE GREEN BUTTON right in the middle of his hand. The Wizard told Ty it was for one "Fun Wish"!!! Ty thought V E R Y carefully and made his wish. The wish was for a big, big trunk always filled with ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and bright red apples to be under the big, big tree where Boo, Miss Sara and Jimmy Jo lived!!!
When Ty finally left the Enchanted Cottage, he ran as fast as he could to tell his friends of the wonderful time he had had. He wanted them to know about meeting the Orange and Blue Dotted Wizard. MOST OF ALL he wanted to tell them of the "GREEN BUTTON WISH"!!
Just as he reached the big, big tree ... there it was ... The Big, Big Trunk!!! His "GREEN BUTTON WISH" had come true!!! And it's still there, always filled with ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and bright red apples!!!
So, if one day, you find the Big, Big Trunk under the big, big tree maybe, just maybe, you'll meet Boo, the white caterpillar, Miss Sara, the cricket and Jimmy Jo, the firefly. Then you, too, will probably find the beautiful waterfall and the Enchanted Cottage!!!
And maybe, just maybe, you'll meet the Blue and Orange Dotted Wizard and he will give you a "Green Button"!!! THEN you, too, can make your own special wish!! Tell me!!!!!!!!! What will YOUR "Green Button Wish" BE?????????????????????????????
