This is the sequel to the Association for Specialists in Group Work's best-selling group activity book Group Work Experts Share Their Favorite Activities. Volume 2 offers more than 50 new and improved activities that can be implemented in a variety of practice settings. In this book, group workers from around the world offer step-by-step instructions for facilitating and processing group activities for work in clinical mental health settings, community organizations and agencies, student affairs, and counselor education. Among the topics addressed are group work with adults, children, and adolescents; couples and families; LGBT populations; college students; people with addictions; counselors-in-training; immigrants; and more. Descriptions of each activity include the target population, rationale for conducting the group, materials needed, goals, directions for implementation, sample processing questions, potential adaptations of the exercise, and specific references or resources. In addition, succinct chapters discuss considerations for both beginning and advanced group workers. This one-of-a-kind book is characterized by a practical approach to facilitating psychoeducational, task, counseling, and therapy-related groups.
