London, Printed for J Dodsley and R Horsefield, 1764, first edition; 24mo, 108 x 167mm; pp [viii], iv, 340; full calf, rebacked in matching material with raised bands, gilt decorated and with a red leather title label gilt; corners worn and with a vertical iondication of an internal crack to the spine; book block slightly browned in places but generally clean; cracked with in consequence a signature (beginning H2) partially loose but the contents otherwise firm. . . . . . The compiler, Tindal, was a cleric and a writer, including translating Paul de Rapin's "History of England" in 13 volumes and writing a three-volume continuation of the work from the reigns of James II/VII to George II.
