Hardcover: H 14.25cm x L 8.75cm .Original full leather binding; burgundy boards rubbed and scuffed at edges with corners worn, gilt borders at board edges; spine leather faded with scuffing at ends, small hole near heel, gilt stamping to spine with center gilt lettered title compartment. All edges gilt. Old pencil inscription lightly written on front pastedown; varied foxing and toning throughout. Binding is firm. Still a handsome antiquarian publisher gift book anthology for 1831 featuring "A Scholar's Death-Bed From Blackwood's Magazine" (pages 3-31), "A Vision of Human Life Suggested by Jan Steen's Beautiful Picture of the Peasant's Grace.
